I've never had a lot of luck sending resumes though it's undoubtedly getting worse. The best bet is if you can get an in from someone you know. Networking is a real thing. And yes, I hate it too. Just one of those horrible realities. Another tip is it's easier to get a job when you have a job so don't necessarily turn your nose up at jobs you don't really want. It's much easier to advance through lateral moves these days too so don't stop looking for jobs once you get one (unless you're very happy where you are and even then...)

The $300,000 is an anti-family propaganda number. It will be nothing like that for most people. With that said, sure, one-off payments will do nothing. People need to be confident that they'll be able to keep their heads above water. I'll also say that if you're going to have kids, have them as early as you possibly can because it starts getting harder once your support structure starts disappearing. You're not getting any younger yourself, either.

@MrCroky123 Yeah, government is printing money so muh capitalism... Meanwhile private money exists and the only value being taken from people is when government comes calling again. The problem is people who will sell their votes because they think they're entitled to free shit.
