  1. Additionally, a lot of the elements in the iphone were already present in the Palm devices (i.e. the Palm TX). Unfortunately, Palm dropped the ball but a next generation Palm device would likely have looked a lot like the iphone. They did try to play catch-up after but it was game-over by then and it would take Android from the heavily funded google to bring some competition. It's a shame because there was a lot to like about Palm.

  2. I think 'luxury' is a bit of an umbrella term. There's genuine luxury and then there's ostentatious consumption. A pair of shoes made to fit you perfectly that looks like any other shoes is luxury. A pair of sunglasses with a conspicuous logo is ostentatious consumption. Way too much stuff is only expensive for the sake of being expensive.

  3. Everyone should be excluding pinterest from their image searches anyway in my opinion. There are even browser plugins for it.
