  1. The main reasons I can see would be to work with the kind of businesses that make their home there. That's going to be mostly financial and some big names. Other than that, I'd agree with you that other big cities are probably preferable and for most large industries, you're going to have a choice of a few different places.

  2. I was hoping that was going to be an ironic title. I couldn't imagine a worse place to start if you aren't starting out with a silver spoon. At least until you're getting to those really small towns like you say. There are a lot of other big cities that will offer you opportunities without having to live in a hamster cage. I think you might have been right 30-40 years ago.

  3.  @kevinnorris6558  They're in a bind because all the expensive infrastructure continues to be expensive infrastructure with appropriate maintenance costs but revenues have fallen off a cliff. Look forward to things getting weird.
