Another thing you have to watch for with inkjets is that the nozzle clean function uses a significant amount of the ink in the cartridges. If you can, I recommend getting a cleaning kit which involves pushing cleaning fluid through the nozzles with a syringe. This saves precious ink and is less hard on the nozzles.

I think they're different subdivisions so the others are likely still doing good work. It's like how Sony is compartmentalized.

@jochenstacker7448 Some of the BMW deal is that other companies upped their game even on the low-end models. My first car was a bottom-of-the-range ford from the 1970s. Door metal on the interior, no glove box (just a shelf) no power steering, no brakes, no stereo, AC not even a merest hint of a consideration. It didn't take much to be higher-end from there. Some of the features that make a car "luxury" these days are a bit risible and fall into the "conspicuous consumption" category IMO.

I wonder if Pine could be convinced to make an open printer.

I definitely recommend a laser printer for daily printing. I do have an inkjet which I bought for photographs but I use it less than I thought I would and it's always a hassle to get it printing properly when I do use it (which may be partly because the laser is my workhorse to be partially fair). I've been thinking of a dye sublimation printer which should have some of the benefits of the laser with the quality of the inkjet but that doesn't print the large format I bought the inkjet for. If only inkjets had a proper shut-down mode that would keep the nozzles fresh. Is this really such a hard engineering problem?

@joergsonnenberger6836 Mine must be before that. It dries up after about 2 weeks. I always let it go into standby (artisan 1430)

I needed an old HP laserjet a couple of years ago because of the iron oxide in the toner and managed to pick up an old 4 for $20. Works perfectly and I still haven't had to replace the toner.

Probably a C-level decision.
