  1.  @MrJest2  This isn't California though. I've seen buildings in similar condition turned into apartments (though I can't speak to this particular building, of course). Brick is a remarkably resilient building material.

  4. Buildings have been a small part of the value of a property for a long time. Here, they'll buy nice houses and immediately tear them down so they can put 6 McMansions on the lot. I mean, it makes sense, property prices have risen but the cost of actually building a house is fairly static.

  5. A decently built brick building will do that (i.e. when the brick is not just a facade). Though it may well not be structurally sound.

  8. Looks like there are a couple of liens (edit: redeemed) and a bunch of delinquent taxes against it. Yet it is held by a corp. I smell something suspicious going on. Unfortunately, I don't understand it enough to have a clue.
