  4. Clips mean less flexing. I'd imagine that's why they did it rather than anything malicious. Though clips also mean bits breaking off when disassembling as I've found out many times. More than one laptop with JB-Weld upgrades.

  5. The wire is enameled and that's not conductive. However, it does scratch easily so this makes me a little nervous. However, Louis is the pro and apparently considers it acceptable so I'll bow to his superior experience.
