  1. If you want to see a model for protecting the consumer when it comes to these things, the Direct Debit guarantee in the UK is a pretty good one. You can always cancel. If the other party messes around, you can do it through your bank.

  2. My worry about privacy is you have to give them access to your bank account. If there was something you could just pay money in to, that would be much more preferable to me.
