@tiagotiagot Plotters used to be a lot more popular. There was even one for the C64. They were pretty cool in their own way.

Could we start bounties for firmware to bypass all this stuff? Maybe pick just one printer or something. These days, you could even replace the whole controller board if needed. Just for interest, a couple of years back, I bought a really old used Laserjet 5. Still prints great and I still haven't had to change the toner. Those old laser printers were made to last.
