  1. Do YouTube really make 10-20 per user from advertising or are they just getting greedy? I'm more inclined to pay the creators than YouTube so charging the creators for the service they are provided seems more appropriate. People raise objections to this but they typically do so without having bothered to think about how those objections could be handled.

  2. As Gabe Newell said, piracy is a service issue. Adblocking is not piracy but if you view it as similar, then you can start to find solutions. Ads on YouTube are intrusive and I will block them any way I can and YouTube premium is not good value. There's your starting point.
