@KuramaKitsune1 Tried that. It was still dismal, if not even worse. Threw the whole thing away.

The short cycling on the small refrigerator may be due to its small thermal mass and reduced insulation. It's going to heat and cool quickly. Slower cycling would mean larger temperature swings.

The do have coolers with compressor cooling too.

Always disappointing. Couple of years ago, I gave in and bought another. The cooling was just as bad as said and when the peltier died, I tried doubling it up (parallel power, series cooling) and it was still really no better so it got trashed and now I'm keeping my eye out for a compressor cooler. I talk against these whenever I can now.

@simonupton-millard Mine had a digital readout but it only told you what it was set for and continued to lie to me as the LG compressor failed and the temperatures inside became dangerously warm. I don't know how we didn't get food poisoning.
