@teraxiel You started off well with your first paragraph but then ran head-first into its point with your third. It's not a safety issue and should thus be the choice of the person paying for the build and no one else.

@teraxiel I agree with your first paragraph (I realise I wasn't clear about which comment): "The problem with your reasoning is that it could be applied to dozens if not hundreds of "little" extras that one thinks should be required for a home. Ultimately all these little extras can add up to tens of thousands of dollars." Governments should not be making these kind of decisions for its citizens.
