  1. I have a couple of devices where the VFDs are fading. There are techniques to "refresh" them but they only have limited effectiveness. A lot of the problem is that VFDs can be very custom and thus no longer available. I'm actually working on designing something generic that would allow a LCD to be swapped in and the base functionality duplicated, possibly with minimal configuration.
