What should be obvious to anyone paying attention, is the rise of the billions living in India and China now moving to achieve the same level of prosperity enjoyed by the west. That would require twice the resources the earth currently possesses. No society would willingly turn back the clock on technology for the chance to increase their population. Unbridled population growth can only create more disparity in the distribution of our finite resources and the more rapid depletion of the environment that provides them.

willcarism Your information is incorrect. The environmental impact of the population growth is already being felt. Of course we have plenty of natural resources, but I'm not talking about a race to the bottom of the barrel. Degradation of the environment is a bigger issue than running out of aluminum and oil.

@Raya B And why do think the earth is threatened by climate change? Overpopulation. Birth control is a responsibility, not an arbitrary choice based on a sentimental notion of family.
