  6.  @douggarrett5288  Of course there were no witnesses for the defense. Trump's partial transcript was a confession and Mulvaney confirmed what he did. Witnesses would have merely confirmed Trump's own misdeeds and exposed the extent of the involvement of so many people. That's why Barr tried to bury it, why Trump has never sat down for questioning in ANY investigation, why he refused to hand over any documents and why he forbade anyone from giving testimony. The trial was fraud.
