Ali A No one prevented him from practicing his religion. He's in violation of State Law. This should never have made it to the Supreme Court.
3
OvroProductions That's true, they don't have special rights, they have equal rights. Operating a business in Colorado requires that you offer your services equally to the public.
3
Kuruma Uzamaki That's absurd. The ability to discriminate against certain members of your clientele is not a religious practice. That kind of thinking is exactly what the Jim Crow laws sought to do when they forbade blacks from equal access to public accommodations, businesses and even toilets and drinking fountains. How Jews were banned from living in certain neighborhoods and Japanese also after WWII. Colorado has laws that protect all of its citizens including requirements for handicapped parking, wheelchair access and bathrooms. How this ever made it to the Supreme Court from Colorado is bull shit!
2
Leston Thompson Save the stupidity for talking to 4 year olds. This is a Supreme Court case now. They singled him out because they were already his customers.
2
David Mendoza No one was preventing him from practicing his religion. He agreed to specific obligations when he applied for a business license in Colorado. He is in violation of Colorado law. If he wanted to limit his clientele he could have opened a private club for members only.
2
Theophilus L This isn't a constitutional thing. He is required by State law not to discriminate.
1
Bhamski Bam Where did come up with this bull shit?
1
Nickhead87 More Christian white male supremacist reverse discrimination bull shit.
1
Bhamski Bam You're a fucking imbecile.
1
Theophilus L God bless discrimination in Jesus' name? That's bull shit. Jesus never discriminated against anyone.
1
Theophilus L No. That's what you are advocating and you are saying it in the name of Jesus.
1
MrReasonablethinker Bull Shit. You know exactly what I'm saying. Jesus cast out/drove out the money changers, he didn't discriminate against them. Do you delight in saying stupid and contrary things just to be argumentative? Why don't you grab your red letter edition and find anything Jesus said against gays or lesbians. Then, if you can stay on track, tell us how that relates to the discussion at hand.

marc Anthony Nobody is infringing on his right to practice his religion. His obligations for operating a business in Colorado require that he offer the same services equally among his customers. Breaking the law is not a religious right.
1
marc Anthony It's not double talk. No one is trying to keep him from practicing his religion. If his religion says not to marry another man then he shouldn't do it. No one tried to make him do that. HE has forced HIS religious beliefs on them. He is violating their rights, not vice versa.
1
Kekistani Umbreon This has nothing to do with the 1st amendment. When you open your doors to the public you are obligated to offer the same services equally. That is State Law under which he operates. How this ever got to the SCOTUS is a mystery.
1
Granny Loca The Civil Rights act is federal law. The supreme court has concluded that it is in accord with the Constitution. His religious rights have not been violated. You're projecting a decision to reverse that by the court that hasn't happened yet.
1
Granny Loca Be that as it may, he violated State law. Being a law abiding citizen is not a form of persecution. Like I said, he's selectively choosing which parts of his religion to follow.
1
Granny Loca Equal protection is a civil right. That covers cake too.
1
Kekistani Umbreon No one was attempting to force him to stop practicing his religion. If he doesn't believe in gay marriage, then he's free to marry a women. HE is attempting to make his customers adhere to HIS religious beliefs. Under State law he must offer the same services to all of his customers.
1
Ryanfinder226 His obligations for operating a business in Colorado require that he offer his services equally to the public. Legal violations are not Constitutionally guaranteed.
1
OvroProductions That message has to be posted in plain sight; just like the "no shoes no shirts no service" signs at the door. I've only seen the former posted at the doorway of bars in Colorado.
1
Granny Loca Don't tell me about the Laws in Colorado granny. I live in Colorado (and Texas). How this made it to the Supreme Court is Bull Shit.
1
Granny Loca I live in Colorado and Texas. As long as they keep buying drinks, I'm sure any gay bar there would welcome a prayer meeting.
1
MrReasonablethinker Completely irrelevant comparison. If you are being refused your pap smear because you are a lesbian would be a legitimate analogy. Pap smears aren't sold as a commodity.
1
Granny Loca The gay agenda is equal rights.

Steve Jones Trump's golf trips have already cost $80 million in security. That's just for the golfing, not all of his security. He out spent Obama's 2 terms in 10 months.
1
shortystoned He is obligated to offer his services equally to the public. That is one of the requirements for doing business in Colorado where he lives. If he wants to cater to an exclusive clientele he would have to establish his business as a private club.
1
shortystoned You're certainly entitled to your opinion. 👍 It's still illegal to smoke weed in public there even in designated smoking areas.
