@chriscolquitt1852 Getting the deferment meant that you wouldn't be considered to be drafted, therefore no draft notice would be sent out. It was a preemptive move. His doctor would have written a letter that would have been presented to his draft board when he lost his student deferment. I don't know if Trump got a 4F, which meant physically unfit to serve under any circumstances. Or possibly a 1Y, which would require a declaration of war by Congress before being called up to serve. Since Viet Nam was an undeclared war no 1Y classifications were called up. 18 year-old men with a 1A classification were the 1st to be sent draft notices.

@ms711x No one has proposed anything like the load of horseshit you've listed. Funding for social programs are paid for through payroll deductions, like Social Security and unemployment benefits. Medicare recipients pay a monthly fee withdrawn from their Social Security payment. And yes, simpleton, climate change is an imminent threat to the planet. Perhaps you should refrain from posting ignorant drivel before you have a clue about how the real world operates.
