I remember an incident right after they first banned smoking in grocery stores. A man next to me in the produce section was smoking while making his selection. I told him smoking was no longer permitted in stores and he immediately dropped his cigarette on the floor and crushed it with his foot!

@terrybardy2848 I believe people are more civilized. Just some shouting, serious scowling with audible mumbling and one 911 call.

@lawrencelewis8105 Movie theaters were a disaster area after each show. They put the smokers in the balcony if there was one. Everyone threw their empty candy wrappers, drink cups, popcorn boxes, cigarette butts and gum on the floor as they finished their snacks. The thought of carrying your trash out with you was inconceivable in the 50s & 60s. Mind boggling by today's standards.

@lawrencelewis8105 I remember looking back at the projection booth and seeing the clouds of cigarette smoke swirling in the light of the projector.
