The yuan has lost 15% of its value against the dollar during the pandemic. China will never let the yuan be traded freely against any other currencies. It must also be held in reserve in world markets before it can even start to compete with the dollar. The CCP will never allow the outflow of cash on that level, therefore it will never overtake the dollar.
