@billymurray705 LA county has more population than 40 states combined. Your fantasy of Trump's popularity by number of counties is bullshit. Some Podunk county in North Dakota or West Texas with 6 registered Republicans is meaningless, as was the size of Trump's rallies. Trump's aggregate approval rating for his entire term in office was 40%. The very reason he had 3 million votes fewer than Clinton and 7 million votes fewer than Biden. He wasn't America's 1st choice for president either time.

@marywood8794 Yes, I'm talking about the last 2 elections. Trump had said, years prior to running, that he would have to run as a Republican because he would never be taken seriously as a Democrat. 30 years of anti-Clinton disinformation and a blitz on social media by Putin's troll farms DID make Clinton a target of right wing hatred. Unfortunately for the country, the rigged election, (Trump's own words.) gave us the worst case scenario of a government in U.S. history.

@marywood8794 We dodged the bullet with Betsy DeVoss trying to torpedo the public school system. Our educational system does need a complete overhaul, not abolished. 3/4 of a trillion dollars a year for military contractors needs to cease immediately. Corporate tax rates must rise and the wealthy should be taxed at the same rate as the working classes are. Anyone earning less than $40K a year should be tax exempt. Universal healthcare, a must. It's time for America to stop being the 3rd world country of the developed nations of the West.

@marywood8794 That's how we ended up with Trump. Trump has been America's 2nd choice for president twice.

@marywood8794 The highest tax rate in the 1950s was 91%, although most wealthy people paid only half of that amount. My aunt's boyfriend was a millionaire back then. As a small child I asked him if he was a millionaire. He told me "you have to have $2 million dollars to have a million dollars". Obviously he was paying out half of his income in taxes. The discrepancy of wealth distribution in the U.S. is now the highest in history. It's time to make a course correction.

@marywood8794 Half of Congress are millionaires. It's their corporate donors who don't want higher taxes. Members of Congress need to have some adjustments made to their perks: Retirement plan, Social Security. Health insurance, Medicare. Then let's see how long before those programs turn into a model of well funded, smooth running social services.
