@iSyriux OMG! How old are you? 12?
1
A short biography of restaurateur and mixologist author Toots Shore would be very interesting. Maybe a history of cocktail recipes, books and their origin (?)
1
Martha Stewart's pink lemonade recipe uses Grenadine for it's pink color. Alternatively, cranberry juice can be used.

The measurement for molasses at 19:50 "gill of molasses" is ½cup and is pronounced "jill".
1
Jeez! Is this procedure complicated enough? At least there was plenty of fornicating and nudity to keep everyone interested.
1
The word is pronounced "jills" (gills). A gill is one half cup liquid or 1/4 pint. Potters made small crockery jugs that held one gill. A gill sized jug of whiskey was called a "tickler". Addendum: a jigger is one and one half ounces.
1
That looks really yummy. Unfortunately, every time I've mixed Champagne with any other kind of booze I've gotten alcohol poisoning. I won't be trying this recipe. 😐
1
I made eggnog from scratch one year, a similar recipe to this. The shit was so strong it should have been served in shot glasses.
1
As little as 10 years ago a friend living in Boston told me the area STILL smells of molasses.
1
King Pedro also decriminalized "alternative" sexual practices.
1
@drewharrison6433 I'm reminded of Scary Gary Null, PBS health guru, who got lots of airtime during the fundraisers.
1
Why are you saying "sylllyabub"?
1
I'm pleasantly surprised that the amount of spices in the cake weren't overwhelming. 😊
1
Those look REALLY over cooked and dry. 90 minutes in the oven? That's a long time for backing anything but meat. Addendum: The best fruitcake I've ever eaten had candied cherries and Brazil nuts in it. NO citron.
1
Thank you for the story of tarte Tatin.
1
@creativedesignation7880 I find that doubtful. My experience is that food being mishandled in its preparation and storage afterward is the main cause of food born illness. Of course, there are instances of contaminated food coming from the source, but it's not widespread.
1
Did they make white wine in the Roman Empire?
1
@preachta I believe everything labeled powdered sugar in the US has cornstarch in it. Corn flour is different than cornstarch here.
1
That 1st pic of those trick or treaters being offered candy bars is a fantasy of yesteryear. Those 2 boxes will cost that mom $150 this Halloween!
1
I would definitely mix the jam with some fresh (or frozen) raspberries. 1/2" of jam cooked down sounds like an opportunity to lapse into a diabetic coma...although the sugar may need some adjustment depending on the tartness of the berries.
1
@dawnmichelle4403 Imagine not liking 7up with a little Maraschino cherry juice served with a cherry. It was my mocktail of choice as a 7 year old.
1
Who's the hotty playing the part of Howard Carter? woof!
1
You're making only ONE groom cake? Hhmmm?🤔
1
Ketchup being classified as a vegetable was an attempt by Regan era Republicans, always looking to shortchange the taxpayers by cheaping out whatever they were legally required to provide. They also wanted to have sunflower seeds classified as an entree!
1
How about using a spoon to eat it?
1
Without French milk, it will never taste like the historical cresent. Just as French milk chocolate is different than any other in Europe, the milk is the "secret" to the incomparable taste of those wonderful French delights.
1
@roborat The cows are eating the local grass. The milk has an earthier taste to it. It's what makes French cheese so much better than other European cheese.
1
I'd say 2-3 drops of food coloring would have been enough to do the job. It looks like a paint color, not a food product. Pretty! Just not very convincing as food.
1
Super fine sugar should be used instead of powered sugar, as powdered sugar has cornstarch in it. Super fine is made for using with liquor although simple syrup is used more often.
1
The addition of excessive nutmeg must have caused the hallucinations that led to the man shooting his wife.
1
Nice Chinese pronunciation.
1
So did you eat at least 7 of those. You said you wouldn't but you don't look like you're fasting for Lent. You killed that bottle of Champagne washing them down too, didn't you.
