I didn't believe anything he said anyway because he was literally one of the villains of "And the Band Played On," along with Dr. Robert Gallo who he was trying to help with patents while delaying accurate reporting and earlier treatment and prevention thanks for French research that had preceded the US research because credit and the financial interests of US pharmaceuticals was more important than lives. He is a purely political animal and always has been.
