  1. Depending on where you are in Latin America, walk ability and public transport can be quite similar to Europe. Of course there are areas where it is no better than the US too though.

  2.  @r.pres.4121  Merida, Mexico is one of the safest places on earth and very walkable. There are parts of Mexico city that are very safe and walkable as well. Just like anywhere there are bad neighborhoods to avoid and there are great very safe places to live. I mean there are parts of Chicago you drive through doing 85 and there are parts that are as safe as Canada.
