It is less expensive & there are less headaches for my cousin to fly to Mexico and get an MRI on her shoulder than to get it done WITH insurance here in the US. Her insurer has denied her an MRI for six months and has her do physical therapy which has left her with a numb arm she cannot use and they continue to deny her the MRI. If they grant her the authorization to do it, it will still cost more than a ticket to Mexico & the $100 to get the MRI. She still won't listen to me about making the trip.

@becaSidekick every study shows universal healthcare in the US would save $2 to $5 trillion over the next decade in healthcare costs. it just cuts out the unnecessary rent seeking insurance companies.

@6-Iron Canada is mismanaged because of the US influence in Canada. And the healthcare system is not the reason for Canada's spending problem. The US takes half of your income too, but you get nothing for it.

@azules9780 nope, standard PPO in New York.

@454bb-cp it doesn't work like that, you need visas and residency permits and you need the income or investments to qualify for said permits. Within 3 to 5 years I will have the investment income to qualify for most residencies I want or will be the age to qualify for the visas and residency permits, but not today.

@OceanFrontVilla3 it depends on what state you live in. In New York or California you can easily pay between 50 & 60% in income tax with another 5% of your income going to property tax, and another 8 to 10% in sales tax the equivalent of GST & PST. Plus unlike Canada where taxes pay for healthcare the $17,500 in foregone wages on average that a family health insurance plan costs through an employer provider insurance plan is another 29% of the average income lost to private taxes due in the US.

@BemaSeatAcademy my sister was doing this for a while & finally convinced my mother to do so as well. They both have scores above 800 now.

@MrKurt2233 I am getting my final ducks in a row to leave the US for good. I haven't decided where I will ultimately settle, but Mexico is one of several places I may spend some of my time.

@dustinfowler7868 stop voting for people with a D or R behind their name and start voting for people who do not take PAC money.

@Luke-rn3sw most countries have far more resources than the US, but the US empire steals from them. Americans benefit more from this farce than most.

@keking2178 this is the way.

FUN FACT: They dumped the tea in Boston Harbor from the British East India Company's ship BECAUSE they were EXEMPTED from the tax while every other importer had to pay it. The revolution was not about having to pay taxes. The revolution was about crony capitalists having an unfair advantage in the market. The revolution was about insider corruption. The revolution was about a lack of genuine representation in Parliament. The revolution didn't happen until after Parliament expelled the non-voting emissary from multiple colonies who merely informed Parliament of what the colonies wanted. That emissary was a journalist from Philadelphia named Ben Franklin. He is the only man to sign the Declaration of Independence, the Treaty of Paris, AND the Constitution of 1787, in other words the only man to sign all three documents that created the current United States of America.

@AB-yw2xc You aren't paying NY property taxes then, because $6k a year in property taxes is easily 5% of your income.
