@divinecomedian2 ideally yes, but at this point a functional Republic would be nice. Direct democracy is of course the dream.

@Zapotah they named the documentary about Ralph Nader "The Unreasonable Man" because historically Unreasonable Men have typically been responsible for the biggest changes. From the 1960s through about 1992 all of the most important consumer legislation or environmental protection legislation in the US had some involvement by Ralph and his organization Public Citizen pushing the legislation through the halls of power in Congress. He only ran for President in 2000 because the ability to in any way effect meaningful legislation in the public interest died the day Bill Clinton was sworn in. That says a lot.
