  1. same story in Berlin, Paris, Madrid, San Francisco ....... In Berlin they have been "defunding" the police for decades. Before it was hip. Instead of talking about it , they simply slowly throttled the police budget every year. The police is desperately underfunded and generally treated like a step child in left wing cities. Needles to say taking public transport may end up as a Tarantino film.
