Thanks, the Hungarian is a woke lefty who hates Orban. He also uses the expression “ white men “ critically , which is a give away. Orban is obviously a very polarising figure and unfortunately the video maker conflates national Hungarian politics with classical architecture. This is a common theme amongst the EU left who think classical architecture is bad because undemocratic aspects of that time. He mentions fox hunting and Hunter wellies which is a marker of the British aristocracy , again he brings his socialist politics into aesthetics . It’s his hobby horse and he rides it all the way up the hill. The Soviet plate architecture is horrific. Its Western cousin is equally terrible and was always a breeding ground of crime, drugs, depression and small mindedness. Yes it did serve a post war purpose when millions needed a roof over their heads, but this doesn’t take away from its inhumanity. Interestingly the Bauhaus did build humane apartment buildings for the working class and they are still very sought after, like Siemensstadt or Waldsiedlung by Bruno Taut. They are some of the best global examples of intelligent modern architecture. Siemensstadt is cultural world heritage. If you ever come to Berlin, look me up and I will give you a tour for free.
