Love Baltazar Hehe yeah, there's no way that a world, which keeps advancing in technology, ethics, and the general understanding regarding the similarity of our sentience, etc, is gonna consider eating meat a morally acceptable position for a modern society to hold. Just like slavery, it won't be instant, but there will come a time when it's just too darn obvious. (Remember, most people are just doing it because if they don't, they fear losing a lot of things, everything from 'their sense of self', to 'the company of the people they consider to be important in life' And the companies know it, that's why they attach eating meat to all kinds of social, familial, patriotic and other aspects.
Not a matter of " if it will happen". It is going to happen. Just a matter of when :).

Shoot Right Here "Because we advance in technology; we won't eat meat? What's your logic?"
Clearly, the only time you use your brain, is when your preconceived ideas need defending. You've probably never heard of synthetic meat(yes im making it sound unfancy).
Do you think you have a choice of slavery? No. But you did 200 years ago. Just like that, you'll get fucked up if you even try to eat 'real' meat soon. Change doesn't just "sweep" everything in a single moment, it starts from small pockets, and uproots caveman cultures, nice and slow.
"It's not a general advancement in ethics that there are vegetarians. There have been for a very long time, many for different reasons. It's just a competing diet, to most completely inconsequential."
You're in denial, if you think they just 'happen to be coincidentally vegetarian/vegan'. You're calling an action "inconsequential", in a society, where people switch from racist to anti-racist, not when they learn, but simply by it becoming too much of a Social Stigma.
Don't make me write the obvious. Are there less vegans and vegetarians than ever existed before? LEL.Nope.

Steven Bishop Lol, so, somehow writing in caps, is a sign of going crazy. When you look at another animal, I wonder what all you are blind to, like gouging your own morality out.
But, Obviously enough, here you are, telling me to take my meds, leeeeeeeeeeeel. Whatever helps you distract yourself from accepting anything other than what you prefer. What a convenient way to live. "It's only bad if it happens to my kind of animals, because in all of existence, I bet you and your self interests, are somehow special.
Yes, I'm surely the one who's lost their grip, oh the hilarity.
