  1. I know, guys, the whole mentioning of 'woohoo all female panel' is not the most 'bipartizan'. I may say it's a mild cringe vibe, too. But you are the one ultimately making a choice, voluntary or not, to react to the degree which you do. It's not classical physics, you have "control" over your subjective interpretation and irritation regarding this thing. I could have done the same as a base reaction, but try instead, to choose the option of reacting like "ok, not the best taste, but I see the lady is excited to get an all female panel to bring the women in this field into the spotlight' so I'm not gonna put in extra effort to get offended, and just focus on the important stuff since that's what I'm presumably here for". From the outside it may seem the 'science industry' is completely equal opportunity, but it's not. It's definitely better than 30 years ago, and it's certainly getting closer.

  2. @no no Most of the things people do in their day to day life don't help anything or anyone. It can be argued that an oversensitive reaction to these statements definitely doesn't help the ones expressing it.
