  1. Modern rationality, logic, science, etc., all might "feel" like a "choice humans are individually making". But obviously enough, it is still evolution, which is still applied physics in an extremely complex system with an extremely high number of variables. Species don't evolve uniformly, some individuals adapt better to certain things, and only SLOWLY and OVER SEVERAL GENERATIONS will great change take place across the specie. Unless we can move out of biologically limited bodies and make things move faster.
