To put things in proper context the 1918 outbreak in the United States had a 20% motality rate , 1 in 5 people who got it died. The average mortality rate with yearly flue is .1%, 1 in 1,000. The current corona virus is estimated to have a 1% mortality , 1 in 100 who get the virus may die. The cases of people dying from it have other complications mainly old age with health issues. Considering the Spanish Flue of 1918 was 20 times more deadly and we have much better technology, we will get through it of course. I think the main thing we need to do is keep the elderly and sick away from anyone infected. The other thing to consider is, like all flue, it will run it's course and die off. The 99% who get it and survive develop immunity which further blocks the spread.
