  1. Maybe just me but the connotations behind the word and the maturity is always behind the standards of many words and expression. I could just look at you and make you feel an outsider or look at you and make you feel welcomed. Some make the situation over the top and some undermine it. Really it comes down to maturity.

  2. Can anyone guve a word for an outsider or a man that works outside, without sounding offensive? Very difficult? Why you ask the modern world tends to undermine and misunderstand people who are outdoorsy or out door work.. Correct me if I am wrong?

  3. Okay let's use it in a different perspective. A bunch of kids see a stranger trying to approach them and they start yelling Gaijin gaijin. Is it proper or is it a defensive word. Remember the connotation... If a person is an outdoorsman. Is there a Japanese word for that? See what I mean.?

  4. I could go to a sumo wrestler and say hey big guy or fatman...pass me the sandwiches. He would laugh and say arigato Im reaching my goals. If I said that to a stranger or someone unassociated and it would be offensive and unrelatable. Words in any language is tricky.
