  1. They are safe, if the pilot does the right things. This one screwed up. If you stall at low altitude, you cannot recover, so you drop like a rock. Very basic.

  4. When you learn to fly multi-engines, you just learn to switch to flying one engine. It is a little tricky. You can be safe on one engine if you follow all the rules ; not flying at night as you cannot see where you could land/glide your plane if the engine quits. That is the main problem with one engine. Of course you have other limitations small aircrafts have but flying is the same, basically, with all airplanes. They can all stall and that is the main danger, if you do not have enough altitude to recover.

  5. Pilot error is what I see. I am a private pilot. I know about stalls. Steep climb ? how steep ? these single engines usually will behave well and glide if handled properly, in case of engine failure.. A stall is the "black beast" and we always want to avoid it. Attitude of the plane is major ! know when you are no longer generating trust, but succumbing to drag !

  7. the climb was steep. Maybe the fuel did not get to the engine, explaining the "pop". Stalling is mainly due to attitude as you can have "power on "stalls or "power off" stalls. Either way, you need altitude to recover from a stall. Many people crash due to stalls close to the ground, usually due to steep handling and not enough airspeed. The plane will go into a spiral dive that cannot be recovered without altitude. They were taking off.....so, no recovery there.

  8. would be interesting to see what exactly they found around that chopper that carried Kobe and the others . I expect only body parts, seriously charred. The impact was severe and it burned the moment it hit the ground. Instant death and early cremation. They knew they were going to crash, for a couple of seconds, which likely feels like eternity.
