  1. Worth an increase on our city taxes, when Alicia Franklin gets awarded a substantial sum of money. The cops should have listened to her. She had all the information ! The Fletcher family including her husband should also sue these cops. It was too late for Eliza when they went looking. She was already dead. This case is the perfect example of some cops, not paying attention to the complaints of the citizens.......It could save a precious life, as in the case of Eliza, could have given her little boys their mother. I hope her husband sues.

  3. There goes the Memphis police who should have arrested that guy ! Eliza Fletcher, being a billionaire heiress , got all the cops looking for her, after she was assumed dead. Seems like, it could have easily been avoided , had they believed Ms. Franklin. Her word was not good enough for them !!!!! Their damn LOSS !

  5. Not the most clever thing to do, but I expect some people are comfortable that way. The blame cannot be put, on her. She did not know, she was dealing with a psycho with a gun, ready to rape and maybe kill her. Now, she knows......she learned the hard way.

  6. Being naive is not a crime. She was hoping to meet a nice guy and not a rapist. Not a smart move, but it is not a crime. All the cops had to do was to check him out. He had to be all over the computer ! He was freshly released from jail for some nasty crime he had committed. He should have been and likely was on probation. Cops dropped the ball. Fist, believe a person who says she is a victim ; to ignore can turn into a tragedy.

She was not being smart, but hey ! she had hopes.......to find a decent guy. Now, she will have extra money to take care of her baby. She deserves it. Not that naive, after all.

  9. I think they would have had enough evidence as he had been , shorty before, released from jail, years before his sentence was done. He would have been on probation. They knew he was a violent man who also had a habit of dealing with drugs. Not a first time offender.

Unbelievable.....we know now, since the autopsy of Eliza Fletcher came out, that she was shot in the back of the head and her face was severely beaten up ; and the guy spent time washing his car and washing his clothes ; in terms of a rape, they do not see semen so they have not ruled out she was also raped. One thing showed up in the toxicology and it is Fentany and that is a flag as she could have purchased street drugs from that guy. Drugs pushing is also in his background. Had the cops done their job, checking him out, instead of assuming, the rape of Alicia may just have been consensual. I see the death of Eliza on their souls !!!!! They ignored Ms. Franklin and let that guy be free. Interesting , as he had a huge record and they should have known had they entered the case in the computer. Alicia was telling the truth and by her, getting a rape test and going to the police could have saved Eliza Fletcher !!!!!!! Thank you Alicia for coming out. This needs to be known.......

  13. A dating site is not a sign of acceptance to rape ; a woman can say NO but the line is taken down, when she gets raped. It is then, a rape case......We need more women in the PD. Men have a tendency to brush off women, they may not find "believable ".......This is wrong.

  14. Lots of black cops in Memphis as it is mostly a black city, like New Orleans and Detroit. Many officials including PD chiefs are also black, so it is harder to accuse them of "racism." They perhaps use a selection process, related to their statistics and not having anything to do with race, but perhaps economic situations. Fighting crime will do this to people, as it is not racism, but just "experience".

  15. Where is that gun ? I wonder if Alicia can ID the gun ? A shell was found but no bullet inside of Eliza. It went right through her and likely in his car that he later on cleaned up.

  16. Would not have taken much. The guy had a record a mile long and was likely on probation. They should have picked him up and interrogated him, processed and arrested him. That would have saved Eliza Fletcher from her horrible death The autopsy report is out and it is UGLY, what he did to her.
