  10. The concept of never leaving children alone, when they are asleep is strictly in the US. In many countries, people do just that. They may be at the neighbors and checking on the kids, but they do not feel it is necessary to be in the same building. That is evidently what that group of doctors did. All of their kids were alone in their rooms. May not be what many of us would do but it is different in some cultures.
