  1. losing a pet is always a sad event as they are family. They take a part of our heart, with them. After many years of having had many cats, my heart is now Swiss cheese as 4 months ago, I lost my last cat. I still feel his presence around me and I am still mourning him. Too old now to have another pet as I do not want to leave, anyone behind after I kick. I am 82 and past the life expectancy ! so I have to give up the joy of having a pet. No one I know would be able to take over a pet. The shelter would not be an option. So, I am done.

  2. Maybe someone who could no longer afford to care for him ? having to move to a small apartment, maybe ? we do not know but that person may have had a broken heart, to let him go to a shelter.
