@comentedonakeyboard your question is dishonest. France was forced to give up lands and pay contributions that Germans planned as destructive for the French economy. Germans did not see any reason to restrict France would be damaged by those contributions. Also the status of neutral power does not give any special protection without any main power defending that status. That is why Germans invaded Belgium in both world wars.
