His mind seems to be getting worse and worse. A yearly mental exam should a requirement to be president.

James Remus One reason why I'd require one at least two months before the primaries begin. Further, based on the results, a panel of mental health professionals would review the results and could, by a supermajority vote, remove the president, invoke Section 4 of the 25th Amendment by a majority vote, order follow-up testing by a majority vote, or bar someone from running by a supermajority vote. Failure to do this at least once a year would result in immediate removal from office.

@Sollace I'm not for physical. After all, FDR was a great president, and he was paralyzed. Mental, psychological, and criminal, yes, but not physical. I'd also add disclosure of 10 years of your taxes and yearly while in office.

@derfnoslein1178 Physical would disqualify people who are paralyzed or who have some health condition, even if their health condition wouldn't impact them doing the job.Think about people like Tammy Duckworth. She'd be disqualified, even if she's highly qualified. Mental, psychological, and criminal though are VERY important though.

@zgjfinance2796 My proposal would have a body of many, many mental health professionals who would review the results and then decide if removal is necessary. It would not include any politician.

@zgjfinance2796 I don't think that it's redundant because there's no requirement for a yearly mental exam, and as we've seen, Pence and Trump's cabinet have not invoked Section 4 of the 25th Amendment. As far as who would decide who these mental health professionals would be, there would be certain qualifications of these people which would include a degree in some mental health field, and they have to have practiced in that field for at least ten years. I'd have a system where Congress has to create and continually fund the agency designed to deal with the president's mental health, and the people on there would not be appointed by Congress or the president and instead would be appointed by group of mental health professionals and organizations.

@zgjfinance2796 The qualifications that are required and the fact that they're appointed by other mental health experts and mental health organizations means that they're highly qualified and not a partisan hack. Two other requirements (and one of these would absolutely keep Trump out) that I'd like to require before becoming president are the disclosure of 10 years of your taxes at least two months before the primaries begin and yearly while in office with failure to do so meaning no running for election or re-election, and a minimum of four years of elected government service or military service.
