  1. I became interested in Soviet Union at a very early age growing up in the US. When I was 8 years old I was given an old map of Far Eastern Russia. I dreamt of places like Vladivostok, Kamchatka and Sakhalin Island and always wondered what it was like there and how were the people that lived there. I’m 60 years old and never lost my like and wonder of Soviet Union. Thanks for all your video’s.

  13. Back in the late 1980’s I was operating an Amateur Short Wave Radio station and made contact with a Russian on the island of Sakhalin in the Far East Pacific Ocean. We communicated on a frequency in the 10 meter jam radio band. We exchanged “QSL” Cards that are a record of our contact. It took his card almost a year to reach me in Calif. and the card paper looked like recycled cardboard or something like that. It’s one of my treasured contacts on Radio. I have always been interested in Russia Far East. Vladivostok reminds me a lot like San Francisco. Thanks for your video! Steve in N. California.

  14. I watched that Phil Donahue show when I was a kid. Phil married Marlo Thomas the daughter of the famous US entertainer Danny Thomas. Both Danny and Marlo are very involved with keeping St Jude hospital in US going.
