  1. I'm Black so political correctness would require me to be outraged. And I don't think I should. The bigger picture here is something that kids are literally terrorized about nowadays, terrorized of being judged making a mistake and have it labelled on them for days, months and years to come, especially with the advent of social media... Which is profoundly disturbing since they're in an age where they're SUPPOSED to make those mistakes so they can be reprimanded for them to not make these mistakes again when it matters. Personally, I'm sure he's a racist and I'm sure he's a jackass. I'm sure many of the assholes who end up at Harvard and end up ruling the most powerful country in the world are just like him and never get caught, and that's how they go about plundering Africa and the Middle East without any afterthought. Harvard did what's the right thing for Harvard, revoking an application that would make them look publicly racist, even though the outcomes of their graduates demonstrate that they privately are. All and all this is a private matter between a jackass -- because there are plenty of students who don't joke about the n-word and could use the opportunities guaranteed by an Ivy League diploma -- and Harvard, to which there is no fucks to be given. But where there really is an issue here is in the big fuss that this story made, which quite frankly would have not been a discussion worth having if the media just shut up about it.
