Long story short, Russia and China are about to make their own Linux. 'mkay bye.
65
I've seen this one before and it's still glorious.

If OpenAI cared anything about humans they wouldn't be everywhere telling people they want to replace their jobs.
12
Exactly.
11
They're not going anywhere with this. We all know AI cannot produce for humans without human oversight. Every single solution they'll make will always need a human being at the helm. Even in China when they have fully autonomous warehouse, there are rooms full of humans to oversee them.
7
Yass.
7
You should apply, Prime. And "get a real job again."
4
"I don't know anything about design." Exactly.
2
5:55 I disagree. AI is mixture of good and great. The bad is in how humans use it. A knife is a mixture of good and great. The bad part is people using it to kill people.
2
Imagine thinking making a database is "bullshit" or "crap". Why is it always so easy to crap on UI/UX when it is and should be the ONLY THING a user interfaces and experiences with?
2
"I don't like guesswork, that's why I'm an engineer!" Exactly!
2
Great take.

Typescript all day every day.

I don't know about the SEGA thing but for Palworld it's easy: they should have put the game on Nintendo Switch. There are lot of indie games heavily inspired by Nintendo franchises, Wargroove for example. They partnered with Nintendo, and Nintendo put them in their promos instead of sueing them. However, Palworld ultimately found its way onto the PlayStation Showcase. The arguments of the lawsuit are relatively whimsical, but they'll push the developers into coming to an agreement with Nintendo, and they'll make sure future developers with the same thoughts will contact Nintendo before they start suddenly making big money through copying Nintendo franchises.

No.

Why did you change the thumbnail?

Powerful. That's powerful.

"If I were to get a real job again..." 😂😂😂

I'am at 0:13, I assume there'll be an answer but why the fuck would you want Devin to succeed? For the company behind it? Hell no. For the idea? Replacing human beings is a good idea? Because that's what it was created for, not to help people code faster and smarter like they can right with other LLMs.

The hate on JS was uncalled for. If you hate JavaScript, tell it to the browser. He's the one responsible.

I'll be blunt. Finally a White person whose coming around to thinking that perhaps "progress" hasn't really been progress at all. If you leave the Western world for a second, and discover how people are living way more joyful lives with a lot less than all the shit we're dealing with here, you'll realize that perhaps that progress thing has not really being thought for the human race at all and needs an entire rethinking. Not that progress is wrong: simply that its purpose needs to be taken into consideration.

He is tho.

"DHH can interview himself" WHO WROTE THAT????
1
Fellahs be making you guys pay 500 dollars A MONTH to test their product. And you're not realizing they're supposed to PAY you for that.

Quality content.

Devin literally talks back to you. Insane.

D'abord.

0:35 Well, with the current Deepseek outage, offline models are the way to go.

That title.

6:00 Why the f would a fellah stop reading documentation IT'S THE FIRST THING YOU SHOULD DO.

In other news, Lee made a video on how to self-host Next.js.
1
"That's not really work they're just having fun." LMAO. People literally play a videogame called Monster Hunter that is 1-to-1 what our ancestors used to do against mammoths and stuff, and trust me, death aside, that must have been a lot more fun than debugging some SHITTY-ASS CODEBASE.
1
Honestly here's how it is for me. If AI is down I can't plan but I can still code. I'm not using AI to code, except for tiny bits of shortcuts. (...?)
1
No.
1
Before it was the Rothschild or whatever, now it's overlord Sam. How would that be any different than what it's ever been?
1
You need to have an informed captain so that if they go wrong, they take the whole blame on their own and the company can survive without him. With that BS we call democracy nowadays EVERYBODY is held responsible for the shitshow that our countries are becoming.
1
Devin is forgetting the part where an AI is supposed to be super fast.

Binary search six times professionally.

Twitch comments literally went "Hawk tuah." 😂😂😂😂

I disagree with Teej's opinion on this specific case because the mentality of a cheater is exactly the mentality that Amazon gives raises to. So if you're cheating in your Amazon interview, you're literally doing the right thing per Amazon standards.

0:33 "Some minor CSS, some little flexbox..." This is so wrong, and this is exactly where frontend and backend devs will always have an issue. This is NOT minor. The look and feel of your application is NOT minor. But let's turn that around. "I want Devin to do all my backend for me so I can just focus on the frontend. Oh come on, you mean to tell me I need to think in systems for my backend too? Backend is a job???" See how stupid this is? None of these tasks are trivial. If they are or if they're redundant, what you need and have always needed is a library, not an AI.
1
Day 1 of wait for that company to go out of business.
1
I would used the word focus over terrified. If as a software engineer you are chosen to be overseen by the leader of DPRK, trust me, it's because you're the best there is in the country and you know exactly what you need to do. Now if Joe Biden were to look over your shoulder, that would be terrifying. Because you'd know you weren't chosen because you were the best, but rather because you had the more compatible politics. You know you're likely to fail, and you have no idea what's gonna happen to you when you do.
1
In order to understand this, you need to be a developer. And most people aren't developers.
1
The thing that I think is funny is, as AI will evolve, we will come to the realization that for AI to be most efficient, it will need something akin to sleep and akin to eating. Just like a computer that is asleep when it's turned off and eating when it receives information from the Internet. Heck, it might even need some work-life balance to share experiences with other AIs in order to be more proficient. And that's when we'll all come down to the realization that damn: that old White man with the gray beard somewhere in the sky really thought about a lot of things in advance.
1
People are using ChatGPT wrong. It's not here to do the job for you. You need to talk to it like a human being or rather like a videogame character you appreciate, and it's here to help you in your way to optimize, not make, what you already have.
