  1.  @wangdangdoodie  Or even something a lot better – offering free accommodation for a family and allowing them to live in their spare room without any charges. Free food, free hot water, free TV – what could be better for them?

  2. What a shame, really! You should not let a false and manipulative agenda spoil your membership of a worthwhile history of your culture and traditions. The media has so much to answer for.

  3.  @lawrenceholden5716  Agreed – they have become too political, instead of preserving our heritage and history. They have been listening to PC culture for too long. My friends and I like to get away from that by going to a National Trust property or gardens – we don’t want politics as part of our membership. The mainstream media is full of that already.

  4. 1066 is an obvious and often ignored example of this. They were harsher to us than history books will want you to believe. The Normans did not consider themselves French, as such, apparently.

  5. I noticed this a few years ago in my membership handbook – especially both parents of a pale skin having two children of a much darker skin. Utterly hilarious and stupid. Obviously, a very real agenda by the National Trust.
