You lost me at "what atheists believe". You theists just never, never understand this....but atheism isn't about belief. It's about a lack of belief. I don't believe anything. I simply don't do belief. Sorry that this doesn't suit your agenda.

@adamc1694 Presumably English is your second or third language, so I won't comment on the readbility of your post. You think a little childish word-play means anything to anyone? You think I can't tell the difference between "know" and "believe"? Clearly, given the quality of your language skills, you haven't the first idea what you are trying to say, so if I were you I'd keep quiet to save myself any further embarrassment.

@rosaliearentsen2983 Exactly. And that of course is its only merit. If you have a president, s/he has power, and you have potential crises as one branch of power disagrees with another. The monarchy's ridiculousness, and therefore powerlessness, is precisely why we should keep it. Their only job is to keep Tony Blair and his ilk from being head of state.

@scott4787 Thanks so much for that essay. You can guess as much as you like. You can also tell me, an atheist, how I don't know anything about atheism. You can even arrogantly suggest I have misconceptions, and (amusingly) that you've cleared them up. None of those stupidities stands up to a seconds scrutiny. Now, about my point. Did you see what the writing said at 1.10? No? Then I suggest you go and have another look.
