Well in Louisiana “blackwater” is just the really dark colored water in the backwaters of the swamps and rivers... not necessarily contaminated (all the water is probably contaminated), but gets the black color from all the leaves and other organic matter that build up in the swamp and leaches out tannins which impart a dark color sort of like coffee or tea.. “ol’ blackwater keep on rollin’..”
