jet stream destabilization from arctic warming… the jet stream is powered by the pressure created by the temperature difference between arctic and equatorial air. As arctic air warms, there is less pressure differential and the jet stream weakens, allowing for troughs of warm equatorial air to reach further north, and for cold arctic air to reach further south. To top it all off, these pockets of air hang around longer because the jet stream is moving much more slowly than it used to. To put it simply: we are fucked

i mean if you look at the fucking thumbnail you can clearly see there are two different pressure systems in northern california and washington, but everything is a conspiracy so you must be right

just research the changes that have occurred to the jet stream over the last few decades. It’s 100% climate change. If you want to argue the root cause of it, fine.. but you can’t deny the data..

@James-dtexTexas that’s because we have this thing called the jet stream that moves troughs of air, so it makes complete sense that one area would be colder than normal while others would be warmer.. try learning how weather actually works before spouting bullshit
