  1. I’ve been to numerous psychiatrists since being diagnosed ADHD as a child.. it has been difficult to pin down a fitting diagnosis for my co-morbid depression because when I’m not depressed I am extremely hyperactive and impulsive which looks like mania to some doctors and other doctors say it’s just the ADHD... became very depressed over the course of the pandemic because I live with an immune compromised partner , and now that restrictions are lifting I have been rethinking my diagnoses again. Lots of irresponsible impulse buying, but part of me thinks it’s because the novelty of actually being out in a store and seeing things is over stimulating after being locked up for so long. Like everything seems new to me and I just want to buy everything! Then there is the hypersexuality, but that’s also hard to pin down because I always have an unusually high sex drive even when depressed, but after having not seen actual humans for a whole year folks are just a lot more attractive to me in person and i feel like it may be because i’ve been missing having connection with people outside of my “bubble”.. so is it svlgger instance of just seeking novelty and excitement or is it mania? My current doctor thinks that, because my moods seem mostly situational, and because i’m able to articulate the possible reasons behind them in a rational way (as opposed to delusional), that it must just be ADHD symptoms.. So i guess my question is: what major tell-tale differences would you factor into a diagnoses between ADHD with comorbid depression VS ADHD with bipolar, since many ADHD symptoms are similar to the symptoms of mania?
