  1.  @galapagoensis  I understand what you are saying. Personally, I am able to look past the clothes and hear what he is saying.. I am pro-union.. but understand that the dominant culture cant or isnt willing to, so it is worth dressing “appropriately” to help people be more receptive to his message. Its kind of like choose your battles.. yes, clothes are superficial and shouldn’t matter, but thats not the reality we live in and he should be doing everything he can to make people more open to his message. If people shut out what he has to say before he even opens his mouth because of how he is dressed, then he is ineffectually representing his cause, which should be workers rights, not a cultural battle over wearing doo-rags

  2.  @gregoryingram7561  I have to agree, especially in the halls of congress.. sometimes its not all about who you are “representing”, but who you are representing those people to. People in general are going to take him less seriously dressed like that.. I know a lot of people who dress like that, but they still have at least one pair of big boy clothes to wear to court, church, weddings, etc.. you are a leader now, so dress like it!
