@huntsman145 yep.. Louisiana republicans are the big “anti-government” regulation people.. I live here. They try to pretend its all about “freedom” from government, but behind doors they are just siphoning money off of government subsidies and writing legislation to give themselves personal tax cuts while selling out their people. Oil industry here is the worst example of it, but it has started to spill over into all aspects of society.. they want nothing more than to get rid of public schools completely so that they can get a cut of the private school profits

yeah its really hard to fund public education when all the republican voters think taxes are “tyranny”… I grew up here and its pretty awful.. any time there is a proposed millage tax to fund some essential service like fire dept., schools, etc.. it always gets voted down. Always. These people would rather live in a 3rd world country than pay $2 per year to fund keeping their homes from burning to the ground.
