  1. Its the love of ease and comfort. It makes you relax, drop your guard, and be less alert. Eventually you dose off and fall asleep. Then you are vulnerable to danger, and it would take something tragic to rouse you back to your senses.

  2. A literal nightmare. Like another dimension, a Twilight Zone. I can only imagine how heavy and hellish the atmosphere must have been. Its even more sad when you acknowledge the fact that were it not for the laws that FORCED them to be civil, this would most likely still be life in America.
