  3. People that downplay gold dont understand it. If you truly want to preserve your wealth and hold it outside of the system, you wont try to discredit gold. Most people who favor bitcoin over gold only do so because they made a few bucks off it, so now bitcoin is their new god. Its the "latest thing" and people love trends and fads, but they dont understand what fiat currency is, let alone real money.

  5. Bitcoin is the "next best thing" and people love the next best thing. Whether its a pet rock, or a beanie baby, an iPod or a bitcoin. They are trendy, and trends tend to burn hard but fizzle out quickly. Not saying bitcoin isnt here to stay or there isnt a place for it, just saying to give it at least a decade or so before making it the end all be all of currency and the messiah that will liberate humanity...

  6. If you were trying to make money, you should have bought Bitcoin. Gold is not an investment, you don't buy gold to flip it. Gold is for SAVING money. Tell your friends.

And if they are stockpiling gold, any idiot can see that they are planning to use it in the future. But good luck to you anyway

  12. @Matt I’ve never had a problem selling platinum and never had a problem selling it for spot. Ever. The thought of not being able to sell my platinum has never crossed my mind. I hear people say that platinum is difficult to get rid of, but I have never experienced it. I can only assume that it’s probably people that don’t actually own any platinum that are saying this...

  14. I have a question; More likely than not when gold rises to that level, the dollar will be suffering from hyperinflation or be more or less worthless...so will it really matter?

  17. Its because they are manipulating the price of gold, otherwise it would be doing the same thing bitcoin is doing. But the point is they will have to stop the manipulation soon and thats when you will see gold doing what its supposed to do. Thats why banks and governments are still stockpiling it.

And those with the means are at the same time buying as much of it as they can. The dollar and the world economy with it is about to get turned on its head, and thats when the music stops. Not before. So if youre waiting to get rich you didnt acquire gold for the right reasons. But if you stop watching the pot and waiting for the water to boil, you will be glad you did.

  31. Probably because gold has a 5000+ year history. Like you said, Bitcoin is still a baby. Its a good investment for now, but , give it at least a thousand years before making Bitcoin the end all be all of currency...
