  3. Rehabilitation, not condemnation. Anyone who’s ever made a mistake that they regret, which is just about everyone, knows people change. Locking someone up and throwing away the key doesn’t solve society’s problems. It’s equal to hitting a child out of anger. It programs the child that pain is the result of doing something bad, but they never really learn why it’s bad to do that thing. Therapy, counseling, rehabilitation. You can only fight fire with water.

  4. Going after gang members I agree with, but even drug dealers should be left alone in my opinion. They are not robbing people, they are selling something people are willing to pay for. It may not be morally acceptable, but I don’t think that’s prison worthy.

  5.  @kizzy2874  I get it, but I still think there is a difference between a juvenile and an adult. If we held every child or juvenile to the same standards as adults, we would have to dismantle the entire framework of society. We hold them at different standards for a reason...
